    New Metro Arms Bobcat?

Found a few photos of this new Metro Arms handgun: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Metro-...70120586341118

They're not listed on their main website as of yet: http://metroarms.net/

New logo? M A C And what is their SPS line?

That is a CBOB, it would sell like hotcakes here! Surprised to see it in their line up.

I'm surprised you caught me reading all the tire specs in the Avon catalog?

That'll be just one more damn gun I have to buy. Gonna need more refrigerators soon.

Bait you with the Amigo, then hook you with a Bobcat. This is a never ending yellow brick road. Wonder how long before there here in the states.
The SPS line has been on the Metro Arms website for a long time. Dont think there available here at this time. Some interesting firearms though.
The MAC line stays in the Philliphines also Fly, I think but not positive.

Good shot RC but not a quite bullseye. I was ordering a Clymer's service manual!

The front tire is a Continental with good tread. I need to check the rear.

    Re: New Metro Arms Bobcat?

MAC line will be available in the USA in 2013. I think we will have about 5 skus available. The Bobcat will have a different name due to the fact that Beretta already has a Bobcat in their line.
SPS is manufactured by Metro and sold everywhere but in the USA. The polymer double stack frame can't be sold here due to being too similar to STI's modular frame.
Remember though, we need to get production up at the factory first - this is our prime objective right now. As soon as we get production up on American Classics and can start filling some demand, then we will star to think about bringing some of this other stuff in.

How about naming it for commemorative WWII battles in or around the Philippines: Leyte, Bataan, Corregidor...just not Death March.

Or, name it for famous Philippinos....Michelle Malkin comes to mind.

    Re: New Metro Arms Bobcat?

Why not honor the city where it is made Parañaque, Call it the Metro model "Parañaque" Bobtail Commander. Why do I say the city where it is made is appropriate for this .45acp? well the name translation broken down means "Stop Now, Boy"

    How nice is that!

The name "Parañaque" is derived from the phrase "para na aque", which was commonly used in the past when people wished to disembark from kalesas (horse-drawn carriages). The phrase literally means "stop now, boy": "para" from the Spanish parar (to stop), "na" from the Tagalog word for "now" or "already," and "aque" from the Tagalog word for boy, lalaki". An alternative meaning of "para na aque" could be "stop here," with "aque" being derived from the Spanish aquí ("here"). The phrase "para na aque" was used so often that it eventually evolved into a term pertaining to a place, thus, Parañaque.

Well, since Mason buttered me up, I reflected upon our great generals who served in the Philippines:

Pershing--John J. served with the the 1st and later the 15th Calvary Divisions during and after the Filippino insurrection.

MacArthur--This guy may be a little bit more palatable to the Filippino's taste, since he helped to run the Nips out. I wouldn't call the pistol the "Big Mac" though.

    Re: New Metro Arms Bobcat?

Apologize for going off track but the mention of the Philippines and Japanese during WWII remined me of the time spent at Subic Bay in the early 70's. Several of us from the Gompers (AD-37) took a trip to another part of the island and found a wrecked Japanese stronghold. Had a watch tower and concrete bunker set up near the shore line. We carefully climbed the tower since it was rusty and rickity as hell and to this day I kick myself for not having a camera with me. I remember the bunker was overgrown from the jungle but still was able to go inside and look around. Low ceilings and damp.
