The story of Grandma D's Meatloaf!

We had meatloaf with bacon put on top for the first time. It was Excellent!

The story, my wife had been serving up her "Mom's recipe" meatloaf for years to family, friends, and church dinners and calling it "Grandma D's Meatloaf". She has been putting in 2/3 cow, 1/3 pig, rusk for filler and other tasty stuff but not bacon. Never ONCE did she put bacon on it. Never!

Friday night we were having dinner at the Walker Roadhouse with her brother and sister and they have a bacon wrapped meatloaf on the menu. I said, "That would be good ... we could put some bacon on top, let the grease blend in and the bacon could crisp up." Sue nonchalantly replied, "My mom put bacon on her meatloaf."

I was stunned! "THE HELL YOU SAY! You have been lying to me for 25 years telling me I am getting "Grandma D's Meatloaf" and you NEVER ONCE told me you were serving up some cheap imitation substitute WITHOUT BACON???"

Saturday night we had a couple of her kids over for dinner and we ate the "Real Grandma D's Meatloaf" and it was EXCELLENT!

Since she's been serving up Grandma D's without the "B", to family, friends and church dinners for years, I'd say you have grounds for a YUGE class action lawsuit. I know the name of a good law firm...Bicker, Back & Forth.

If they're booked, try Dewey, Screwum and Howe.
Glad you got the recipe fixed, I'm gonna have to try that.

Kids love my meatloaf. My wife's... not so much

My mix is very similar to yours. Mine has a layer of bacon on top as well. Basket woven if company comes over.
