Open/conceal carry attorney services... (is there insurance for this?)

Had my Conceal Carry training yesterday. At one point, the instructor stated that "every bullet has a lawyer attached." He then proceeded to tell us a couple stories of people that were totally in their right to use the firearm to defend themselves, but still ended up in a civil law suit and required $150K in legal fees just to start. Since this is a reality of what we face if we fire even one bullet, is there insurance or other ways people can prepare financially for the possibility that this could happen to them. What does the NRA recommend? What do others do?

We joined Texas Law Shield when Dorothy started shooting.
    Just in case.
    Most states have one.

    Google?

That $150K sounds extremely high. They are saying about $10K in this area, still expensive IMO, but maybe doable. Of course it can vary with how involved it gets & how long the trial goes & probably a lot depends on the location. I can imagine the cost to defend yourself in some liberal mecca like new york city, chicago, etc where the DA is going to be trying to make an example of you.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for all of this information. I live in Texas, but I checked out both CCW Safe and Texas Law Shield. Looks like TLS costs $275.40/year for the same coverage that CCW Safe offers for $150/year, (for a couple, plus coverage in all 50 states). I would pay either. Will have to research them in more detail once my LTC comes in.

Wallah! This thread has been made a sticky. I doubt if I could find it later, and by then it would be too late.

Have you found out which company covers the most for the least? We live in California, and I just purchased my first pistol, also have a shotgun. I really need some help in this area. jedwa821@gmail.com

I've heard some good things about this outfit, but this is not an endorsement.
