    What's Wrong With This Holdup?

This video depicts another good reason why the public--in particular fast food employees--should have a basic understanding of how guns work....or don't.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xdtZ-ZksDc

Had this Jimmy John's sandwich shop counterman understood that a pistol is unable to fire while the cartridge is out of battery in an FTF condition, he could have informed the assailant of this error and thus promoted the company's reputation for outstanding customer service in addition to forking over the cash.

Hehe, I saw that one yesterday. The guy is probably working at the only fast food restaurant chain that wouldn't reward that kind of thinking with a trip to the unemployment line. " yeah yeah....here ya go"

Wow.....I guess the pressure was on....and perhaps the guy just didn't look at the gun?

We had one locally a few days ago.....I think next county over.....a would be carjacker tried to carjack an undercover cop.....he went to jail.

I had a little different take on it. Most convenience stores have a "don't resist" order to employees. In fact, the chain that Marty worked for (for only one night with me parked out front with my .357 on the seat) didn't even have an inside phone for employees to call for help.

I think maybe the reason for his nonchalant attitude was because he knew the gun was jammed, so he had no worry of being shot just for funsies & it wasn't his money he was giving away. That, or maybe an inside job?

'Coulda . . . woulda . . . shoulda' works great from an armchair! Regardless of how or why he maintained his composure through that is irrelevant. I highly commend the man!

Some people say since the gun was not operational because of a malfunction that the clerk should have reacted! Uhm . . . maybe!

I've been there, and you don't always take notice of everything involved.

In 1995, an armed intruder broke in my house and held a gun on me with my 2 year old daughter in my arms. It wasn't a warm feeling, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

He made sure I kept my daughter on my lap, between the gun and me.

Luckily my wife saw what was happening and was able to notify the cops, who managed to convince the a__hole to give up.

          Could I have reacted? Yes.

Could my daughter have been killed if I tried to play hero? Yes!

No one is ever trained for every contingency.

He was told to comply by his company. His ultra calm nature was he saw the jam and even looked puzzled. He complied and the perp left.
No one got hurt and the video was clear. He will be caught.
They showed that clip on "Live PD" last night.

That's my take.....he didn't panic because he knew....he just calmly did as he was told.

We had one like that few years ago. Guy tried to carjack an unmarked chevy Tahoe about 2 miles from the police academy. The suspect did not get arrested though. He served a very short life sentence one the side of the road.

Yep my son noticed it and asked me to watch to see if he was right. Believe it was on the news when he asked for my opinion. I told him good catch and eye.

It's hard to miss, especially with the chrome barrel and black slide.
