    5.56 vs 223

Hi everyone I hope all are doing well. I'm finally entering the AR15 world. I'm having one built and hope to have it soon. While searching for ammo, which is fun I noticed that 223 is twice as much. It's up to $1.50 a round vs .50 to 75 cents. Needless to say all I have is 5.56
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

are you aware of the difference between 223 and 556?

what chamber will yours have? (a Wylde chamber is safe to shoot either)

It's 5.56. I'm getting in the AR game late.

I got my answer when I picked up my AR today, its sweet and I can't wait to shoot it. 5.56 is NATO round and trillions of rounds are made a year. Because of that the quality is not to top standards. The military just wants to put as much lead down range as possible. The 223 is the civilian round and has higher standards. It's also cleaner and more accurate.
