DANGER! USA AMMO .380 Update FAIL

I purchased some of the .380 ammo from USA AMMO usaammo.com The price of 10.99 was fair if you bought enough to cover freight. I purchased a few things to try out.

I will do a Chronograph test on the ammo this week and update this thread.

The ammo says match, Probably hype but the Standard Deviation report will tell me how well they are loaded.

The box says NEW AMMO, I found out it's a small start up mfg. out of Utah.

    UPDATE

Chronograph data tested today 1-16-11, they say this is MATCH ammo, WRONG.

It is standard ammo as the test show against Remington Green Box and RC's reloads it came in last.

I was worried about the factory taper crimp when I first inspected this ammo, it wasn't as flush to the bullet as the Remington's or my reloads.

Sure enough two failures to feed in the Bresa T-.380 and one FTF in my P-3AT. These guns have ate everything I fed them including Hollow points but not this time.

The flat point was stuck in the traditional FTF 45 degree's up position and flat point was deformed. The bullet itself was forced back into the brass. The round measures AOL of .950 and all three FTF's were about .889 +or- .002 when measured after the FTF.

The Chronograph data follows the pictures below. As I said it shows it as standard fodder, no more no less.

Due to the FTF's I rate this ammo F "FAIL"

UPDATE NUMBER 3 ...ANOTHER FAIL, JULY 2011, A BERSA CHAT MEMBER HAD A SQUIB ON SOME NEW 9MM AMMO FROM THESE GUYS. HE WAS LUCKY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A KABOOM

But it does come in a cool looking camouflaged box. It seems to be reasonably priced, I look forward to your report RC.

            Re: USA AMMO .380 Update

I bought a box of it as well and a box of 9mm reloads to try it out before buying a large quantity of it. I went to the range on this past Wed. and had no trouble at all with either ammo in my BT380 or SW9VE.

Thanks for TOFTT. I was holding off on buying until the results were in, looks like a pass.

Thanks for testing it out and saving others some grief RC.

The box proclaims "Ammunition With Attitude", I guess it's an attitude of unreliability.

RC, does flat nose ammo normally work reliably in your BT380? Mine doesn't seem to like it in any flavor. Winchester flat nose will always produce 1 or 2 FTF.

Just wondering if the FTF's are an actual result of USA's ammo or just another example of flat nose ammo not being 100% in the BT380.
