I just picked up this one and noticed a change in the way the drawbar is made:

My (newer?) version on the right.

Wondering why the change was made. Have cleaned and lubed and will take to the range tomorrow.

Took it to the range and put around 75 rounds through it...performed flawlessly!!

that's always good news, what did you feed through it?

as to the trigger bar link, i think it's technically the Disconnector, in an attempt to diagnose an issue with a basket case i picked up i measured 3 of the old style that i have. the measurement is a little suspect but it's all i could think of to distinguish them from each other. on a plane parallel to the length of the part, from the close side of the pin that engages the trigger to the close side of the surface that pulls the sear off the hammer ... all 3 measured significantly different. so i ordered 2 and measured them when they arrived, they were both pretty much identical. the visual difference suggests to me that the manufacturing process is different resulting in a more accurate finished part?

I shot 50 rounds of 95 gr GECO fmj and 25 rounds of 90 gr Hornady FTX.

How is the safety on that? I got one and it is really tight.

Safety is a little tight--but the gun is new. I'm thinking after 500 or so rounds and repeated use of the safety it should loosen up a bit. I'm not really concerned about it now...

flood it with oil, it should only take a couple drops. get a drop in the right place with gravity working for you and exercise the lever

              repeat as necessary

I'm new to this site. I am looking to see if anyone has started making wood grips for the Bersa Thunder 380 Plus? I'll continue hunting through the threads as I've got to think others have asked before.

Bersa made wood grips for the Model 85 & 86, watch the notch for the slide catch lever

some have the notch / some don't

Welcome to Bersa Chat Onebad442. Haven't heard that anyone is making wood grips for the Plus. As Vito says, I think someone found some for either the Mod 85 or 86 & modified them to work, but can't be sure of that. I fear that wooden ones would add quite a bit to the thickness, otherwise they'd tend to crack.

The Models 85 & 86 grips will work by cutting a notch on the left grip to accommodate the external slide catch (models 85 & 86 have internal slide catch...no notch ). Pretty simple modification using a coping saw and file. Look on e bay or Gunbroker for the grips.

The trigger bar on the right is the newer model. The difference is that the old model was a stamped part and the new one is an metal injected molding (MIM) part.
I think the new style is better - it is much more consistent, always has plenty of sear surface, and is quite easy to work on. Haven't seen any failures w/ them either up to this point, but then I can't really recall many problems w/ the older ones.
                          Just my 2-cents.
