So if you could pick any rifle, any style, what would it be. Please rate your choice with the following in mind.
Hunting
Protection
Caliber
Action
All around 1 gun fits all. In my mind a Marlin 30 30 lever action.

Remington 750 273. I had the 243 so my wife could shoot it and she thought it was too heavy so if so then I'd go to my first choice of a 273. She's not a sniper anyway.

For most North American game I would choose a Browning BLR in 308. For dangerous game I'd move up to the 300 WSM in a Browning BLR.

I refuse to choose one. If forced it would be my BRNO ZKK-602 in .375 H&H. You can literally hunt any mammal with it. The velocity is such you can pop a rabbit in the head and destroy zero meat. Almost no loss, eat up to the hole as they say, on larger game. Bears, buffalo and elephant will all fall. I've never seen a test, but I imagine 350grn Woodleigh or Barnes solids wouldn't slow down much from its already lumbering pace of 2300fps going through NIJ level 3 plate. Level 4 it would just kill you from blunt force in the energy dump. Great all around performer inside 300 yards.
