So, the RIA is now ~$370. Anyone actually have experience between the two?

I think there's been a delay in getting the Micro-Max into the states, so no comparison that I know of. I know lots of folks like the Rock Island pistols, but from my personal experience, I'd wait on the Metro Arms Llama.

Do those have an internal extractor, or is that considered an external one?

                Re: RIA .380

I bought a used Baby Rock, it is having a couple issues, slide not locking back when mag goes empty, not wanting to feed flat nose.

I guy I bought it off of did not reveal that slide would not lock back, I called him after the fact and he just said I didnt notice.
I did remove the mag and hand cycle the slide but did not reinsert mag and cycle the slide or I would have noticed no locky backy.
                I gave 350.00
Here is the great part, I talked to Armscor ,let them know my issues..............they sent me a shipping label to get it back to them
They said that they would get it up and running for me under warranty, talk about customer service....again they sent me a Fed-X shipping label, I was shocked to read the e-mail that said we have attached a shipping label, give us 4-6 weeks to fix it up.

Maybe Tophog will run down there and be sure they do it right

Haha! If I still worked there I would definitely speed up the process for ya!

They are great at warrantees on their guns.

Wow, what great CS. I bought a RI mag from them to see if it would work in my 380 1911 from Spain. Bingo just like it was made for it. Very enjoyable little gun.

I bought a Metroarms Micro-Max 380 after doing a careful comparison with the RIA Baby Rock. It cost me $20.00 more, but feel the Metroarms gun is a better gun. I do know that Metroarms is considered to be the BEST of all of the Philippine manufacturers. My Metroarms American Classic II 45ACP attests to the quality of their guns.

That 45 is an EXCELLENT 45! My nationally-recognized 1911-specialist gunsmith in Washington state told me the quality/fit of the frame/slide/barrel were all on par with his high-dollar personal Dan Wesson! Out of the box, the trigger was very good, accuracy was very good, the gun was very tight, slide ran as if on ball bearing, and it shot any ammo I could find to stuff in it. Well, me being the anal cuss that I am, I ordered a full compliment of Wilson Combat parts (stainless beaver tail, Hammer, Hammer strut, Sear, Disconnector, Trigger, and Barrel Bushing) and had him install all of that, hand-fit the barrel bushing and do his very best trigger job. And I added an Ed Brown snakeskin hammer spring housing and mag well. All of that cost me about what I had originally paid for the gun, and the grand total was right around $850.00. Not bad for a gun that will stand toe-to-toe with the most expensive 1911 on the market costing 2, 3 or even 4 times as much. Accuracy is outstanding (full magazines into a circle the size of the bottom of a pop can at 25 yards) and trigger that is just STELLAR.

And here is my new Metroarms Llama Micro-Max 380. Features it has and the Baby Rock doesn't are ambidextrous safety, fiber optic front sight, nice useful magazine extension, checkering on the front grip strap. It also has a red line on top of the extractor that serves as a loaded chamber indicator. The trigger is quite a bit better than that of my Bersa Thunder Plus. I dearly LOVE this litte gem! Love my Thunder Plus too! I would be really torn if I had to decide which one to keep and which to let go.

The Sig P238 and Colt Mustang are NOT true 1911s! They both lack a grip safety. And they are both so short and stubby that at 25 yards you would be better off just throwing a brick at the bad guy. The Browning 380 is almost identical to the RIA Baby Rock and Metroarms Micro-Max but it is more that double the price. My sister has the Browning in 22LR. It is a NICE gun, and the bluing on it is stellar. But overall quality, fit, function and accuracy are no better than my Micro-Max..

If the M/A was soo much better why did you do all the un-needed upgrades ?
