Apparent recall on the Llama Micro-Max 380

I got an email from Grab-a-gun where I purchased my Llama Micro-Max 380 telling me there is a recall on the gun due to the slides being hardened too much resulting in the possibility of cracked slides, and to contact Eagle Imports, and with the contact info for Eagle. I called Eagle and they told me it isn't for all of the guns, only for a few batches. Gave them my serial number and alas mine is one of them. They will be sending me an empty box with a pre-paid shipping label and will replace the gun with a new one.

That's too bad Jimku. But they are doing the right thing. Doesn't put me off of getting one for myself.

No big deal. Just means I will be short a gun for a month or so. They are doing the right thing, and it won't cost me a dime.

This shows Metro Arms is on top of things, a recall is serious business and cost them a lot of money. I wonder if the recall came via complaints from the shooting public or from their engineering dept. Well, you are getting a new pistol that's a nice thing. I know you like that Llama and because of your praise, I see a few here are about to pull the trigger on purchasing one.

I have this same problem. My children are the root cause.

Have the problem here even though our kids moved out years ago. 'Course, my other child, Marty, is tryin' to make up for them.

Thanks to Jimku's post I sent Eagle an email over the weekend to find out if my MicroMax was affected. Fortunately mine is not in the recall zone. They said only 2 shipments were part of it. Glad I don't have to send mine back.

Thanks for the heads up Jimku!

                    Edit: Added missing word.

Eagle has received my Micro-Max and confirmed receipt. It will be another two months (end of August) before they get the replacement guns in.

One thing is for sure, at least it was before Michael left, Eagle has a great reputation for taking care of it's clients. Let us know how the process proceeds.

On a warranty thingy, they told me they can't just pull one off the shelf to replace a pistol. It must come from the manufacturer. 'Course, 2 months does seem a bit long. My replacement American Classics each took about 3 weeks, if I remember correctly.
