    Thank you, I didn't know that.
    My Uncle was a SeaBee during WWII. He was a welder by trade when the War broke out. He tried to enlist in the Navy but when the recruiter found out he was a welder, he talked him into joining the SeaBees. They trained him as a boiler maker and he spent the entire War at Pearl working on Navy Ships.

      The Navy uses your skills....the Army hands you a rifle and a shovel.

          Same thing sorta.. happened to my dad back in War II.. Navy found out he had a engineering degree so they discharged him. Then hired him as a civilian put him in the bilge of a floating dry dock in the S. Pacific and he didn't see daylight for the duration.. Not sure why the honorable discharge first then the rehire. Something about getting the high skills out of the chain of command.. At least that was his story and he stuck to it.

            Yeah, the army was run the same way our government is. They'd find out what a guy's experience was, then use him somewhere else.
