I'm familiar with the Tricare services. My second neck surgery, hip replacements, last 2 colonoscopies were thru them & currently, treatment for glaucoma. Very satisfactory service in all cases. Good people, just don't get in a hurry. Once the request is entered by a VA doctor, takes about 2 weeks for them to call for preferences, etc, then a while to locate & make an appointment with an appropriate facility. 'Course, with their work load, every thing about the VA is slow.
