    Mississippi Pot Roast

    Mississippi pot roast

This isn't mine but I post the ones I think score a 9+ on the RC gastronomic scale.

One big thing DO NOT ADD WATER!

Sear each side of a 3 lb chuck roast in a pan using high heat and oil.
Then place in the bottom of a crockpot.

Seasoning. Read my lips! Do not change or substitute these two ingredients, one packet of Ranch dressing and one packet of Au Jus gravy.

Break up the pot roast and serve over a bed of flat noodles (I like the no yoke brand) See look at the juice this makes with NO water!

This has to be the best pot roast I have ever served. I made a second batch and invited some neighbors over. Everyone said if they don't get this recipe they would kill me

Carrots or potatoes? NO, NO, NO, do not cook them in this recipe. If you want them, then cook separately! remember NO substitutions!

I make this same exact recipe using the same seasoning packets. And another variation that uses Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix. I serve it the some way; on wide egg noodles with veggies on the side.

        Good stuff TuxAir isn't it.
One other note, see that hole in the chuck. Due to using butter I trim 90% of the fat from the chuck. I got an easy 1/4 pound off of that 3 pounder.

Most recipes don't sear the meat. RC says always sear the meat.

For youall that don't know it's the Millard reaction. The Maillard reaction is a chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars that gives browned food its distinctive flavor.

Not sure she try peppers, I kid her that she thinks water is Spicey.

There is only 5 ingredients including the meat. This is a no brainer to make. Well 6 if you call the noodles an ingredient. Lol.

My wife loves this and she doesn't do heat. Use only the 5 peppers and don't add any extra pepper juice if you think she will not like it. The light heat in a peperoncini dissipates into the meat and becomes a neutral flavor at the end of the cook.

OK, BC you can see the verdict is in and an overwhelming yea on the Mississippi Pot Roast.

Stidgun it looks like you have a meat lovers recipe you can WOW others with.

And TuxAir, who has made this many times is a winner when a son's last request before he goes to college is DAD I want MPR before I go.

For the rest of you try it out and add your feelings to this thread. Have a meet and greet shoot and bring some along to feed the troops!

I've asked the Princess to make it for me. She's was a little wary of the term, "Mississippi Pot," but I assured her that none of that goes in.......right?
