    Nat Geo. Topographical maps.

This might be common knowledge but I just found out about this. Nat Geo has put every US Geological Survey (USGS) topographical map from across the United States on one easy-to-navigate site and made them easy to print out at home. Check it out.

Good link TuxAir! I love topo maps. They've always been an essential part of my surveying business.

I'm just a map junkie. I have more maps, compasses & cartography software than I can keep track of.

The maps may help.....but I'm still having trouble finding things with both hands.

I use that topo site, and Google earth for the arial shot of a specific spot. Then the weather for the date and time. Knowing the temperature and due point I compute the cloud ceiling hight. Compiled with surrounding structure and airports as a direction comformation of the witness testimony.

What does RC do with this data. In most cases it's confidential.
Yes, TuxAir it's a good reference tool for many things.

Yes a radiation reading compared to a national data base for the given area. Did I say soil and water test too. Oh, photos, some times video.

Have I hijacked this thread yet? Maybe a little.
