Looking for an EDC flashlight recommendation

Hey there BersaChat. I need some recommendations please.

My trusty flashlight for the past 8 years was "adopted" by someone who apparently needed it more than I did. No thank you note was left.

Anyhow... I use a flashlight daily. It is an indispensable tool at work. I carry one often outside of work too.
What my needs are is SUPER bright light. Ability to focus the beam. Tough.
A momentary on capability is a plus, as is an approximately 1" body diameter. But these are not a must have need.

Apparently flashlights have come a long way in the past 8 years with many to choose from.

What recommendations do you fine folks have? What works great for you?

    Thank you!

This is one great torch, Dee Dee was online so she posted the link.

The back is magnetic, great for sticking on metal to light up your project. A true 500 lumens but toggles down to moonlight. I recommend you turn the pocket clip so it's over the on off button so your pants don't light up in the restroom. I was wondering why all the men were looking down there.

I would buy a couple batteries so you go over $50 for free shipping. They carry all you ever need in the way of top end lights

Look at Streamlights offerings. I have several ranging from the stylus pro in my shirt pocket to the stingers I have at home, work and in the car. Super tough and reliable. Available from your Matco or Cornwell guy if you have one at the shop. The Stingers are rechargeable, my stylus is 2aa but they have a rechargeable model now too. I gave away all of my CR123 lights. The good batteries are expensive and the cheap ones suck.

For a little more money go with this 900-lumen turbo model. It comes with a magnetic charger and rechargeable battery included.

Nice light DeeDee and thanks for turning me onto that website. Thank you too RC for the other recommendation.

The light that walked off was a stinger. It was my second one. The first one did not survive a 40' fall on concrete. But it was a great light so I bought the second one with an the focusable lens.
I was browsing around on that battery junction site and am actually leaning towards a Klarus XT2C. The additional length would fit my hand better. It doesn't focus but I got to thinking about it... I don't really need that capability like I used to.

Time to read up on other lights :)

I can't believe how many options are 1k+ lumens now. That's ridiculously bright.

Good choice for a mid size EDC 5"
Mine in a mini, I swear I use it 5 times a day. Love it in restraurants where you can't see the menue on low power. If there are 10,000 uses I will find them lol

                  Enjoy your XT2C.

I have been using Battery Junction for over 10 years. I have about 12 lights.

I'm still reading up on them. I should get to bed though. That XT2C is still a front runner though.

Lol, why do you think the Stylus Pro is in my shirt pocket? I can't see the numbers on bulbs & bearings anymore.

I feel your pain guys... I'm in the same boat. Some guys think I am just thorough doing my inspections on composite repairs and damage evaluations when I'm just actually just trying to see WTH I'm doing.

Thanks for all the input fella's. I went ahead and purchased the Klarus XT2C. I happen to use 18650 batteries for in other devices too. It'll be a good fit.
On another note... Now I have a new G job to do at work. Time to dig out the leather working tools. I don't care for nylon holsters.

                            I like key-chain stuff.
A mini lite fills the bill -- a Thrunite Ti3 w/rechargeable aaa battery, w/twist switch

Along with house keys, a mini SS lighter, a little CRKT knife, Craftsmen 4-way screwdriver & fingernail clippers. Car keys on separate chain/rings since they have gotten so large w/chips, openers, etc.

Old school mag-lites in the vehicles & scattered around the house, as well as some cheapie led single aa units to accompany them. It's amazing the beam a single aa battery led will throw! Plus battery led lanterns for power outages (don't stink like our kerosene & propane units).
                            1) Never point (aim) a firearm at anything you do not plan to KILL !
                            2) The only safe firearm is one with action open !

Re: Looking for an EDC flashlight recommendation

I haven't bought a new light in a couple years. Which means I don't know the latest and the greatest. But also means my lights serve my purposes very well. I have two of them. But I think one might fit your bill.

One requirement for me.... rechargeable. I use my lights a LOT and I'm not buying that many batteries.

I would recommend the Fenix UC35. Adjustable brightness, USB charger (can use adapter to plug into wall as well). End cap switch, momentary on, and bright.

One down side is it's not easy to change the brightness by just multiple clicks of the tail cap. You have to hit button on side to adjust brightness but the one you choose is the ones that turns on when activated.

I also have an Inova light, believe it's a T4. It's my traffic stop light. It has taken a beating and been repaired twice under warranty after it broke during fights..... somehow. The flashlight must have struck something hard but fixed no questions asked and sent a new battery each time as well. Good customer service.
